THE WORK
This piece focuses on the wide staircase inside the Palais Equitable. A horizontal layout emphasizes light stretching across the stone and ironwork. Thin layers of color capture the masonry texture and deep shadows, allowing the viewer to experience the building as a sweeping, open space.
THE INSPIRATION
Part of the Light of Vienna collection, this work reflects the idea that life, much like architecture, is built through structure, direction, and countless small decisions. The architectural space in the painting — with its repeating arches, staircases, and railings — becomes a metaphor for the geometry of human life.
