THE WORK
I focused on the way soft light reflects off the corner tower. I used thin layers of warm and cool colors to give the stone a smooth, pearly appearance. The building is painted with careful details, but the edges are soft to show how it blends into the light of the sky. This makes the heavy imperial architecture feel light and elegant.
THE INSPIRATION
Part of the Light of Vienna collection, I wanted to capture the glow of this building when the light makes it look iridescent. It felt more like satin fabric than hard stone. I painted this to show the softer side of Vienna, where the monuments feel like they are breathing. It is about that quiet, beautiful moment when the city feels delicate and calm.
