THE WORK
This piece captures the café inside the Kunsthistorisches Museum Wien, specifically the Kuppelhalle. Light from the high windows is utilized to emphasize the massive height of the space. The figures are kept simple to illustrate how scale operates within such a grand room, while the red colors of the central seating help guide the eye through the marble columns.

THE INSPIRATION
Part of the Light of Vienna collection, this work celebrates the heart of the museum. It showcases the local Viennese coffee house tradition, where grand history meets a casual pause. Capturing a space where art and life converge, the painting portrays culture as alive and approachable rather than distant or cold.
