THE WORK
A wide stone bridge crosses luminous water, its parapet lined with slender lamps against a sky of rose, violet and pale gold. Two small figures stand on the span, apart, but on the same bridge. A handful of birds lifts over the central arch. The city behind dissolves into warm haze, and the water below holds all of it: the arches, the light, the whole glowing hour.
THE INSPIRATION
Two figures on one bridge.
Not together yet, but no longer on opposite shores. Sometimes that is the whole story: the same span underfoot, the same light ahead, and the distance between two people already half crossed.
