THE WORK
A slender footbridge descends on tall piers toward a far bank of soft trees, washed in blue, lilac and warm apricot. A single bird crosses the pale sky. The span slopes gently downward, leading the eye across the water to the quiet shore and its silhouetted pines. Everything is calm, vertical, dissolving, a simple crossing from one side to the other, unhurried.
THE INSPIRATION
The bridge tilts gently toward the other side, as if the crossing were downhill,
as if arriving were the easy part. One bird, one quiet shore of trees, and a path that only leads one way,
across, and down, and home.
