THE WORK
Hamburg's harbor stretched wide. The curved glass of the Elbphilharmonie catches a faint turquoise light on the left while port cranes stand quiet on the right. A vessel rests at the waterline and tiny figures walk the promenade, barely there. The whole skyline is mirrored in the water below, softened until the reflection feels as real as the city above it.
THE INSPIRATION
This painting explores the connection between place and memory. The city becomes a landscape of recollection, where architecture serves as a vessel for experiences, and where the brightest landmarks are inseparable from the stories we attach to them.
Sometimes we do not miss a city itself. We miss the version of ourselves that once lived there.
