THE WORK
Two original close studies of a restored Land Rover Defender in soft mint green, framed together as one piece. On the left is the rear with the spare wheel and the tailgate and the maker's name Ramble lettered in gold. On the right is a three-quarter view from behind. The canvas top is folded back and the tan leather glows inside. Every rivet and hinge and worn edge is treated as a portrait feature.
THE INSPIRATION
A machine rebuilt by hand and ready for the years someone else will drive it. This is a portrait of a Defender with a soul and it is back on the open road.
