THE WORK
An arched bridge rises over still water toward a small house with warmly lit windows, tucked among tall cypresses and pines. Two lamps burn at either end of the span. The trees dissolve into washes of blue, violet and rust; the sky runs in soft vertical bands of rose and apricot. Of all the crossings, this one has a destination: a roof, a light left on, a home waiting at the far end.
THE INSPIRATION
Every bridge in this series reaches for something. This one reaches home.
Two windows lit, a roof among the cypresses, and the arch that carries you the last few steps.
Connection, in the end, is this simple: somewhere across the water, a light is on for you.
