Viviene Astakhova’s recent works shift from architectural representation toward the construction of an inner, imagined space. Drawing on her long-standing practice with watercolor, she extends its language onto raw canvas — carefully guiding the flow of pigment to create layered, atmospheric fields.
These works suggest a personal landscape — a fragile, intimate territory shaped by memory, safety, and emotional perception. The surface remains open and breathing, holding a quiet tension between control and dissolution.
