THE WORK
This piece captures the heavy terracotta textures and deep shadows of Florence through its narrow streets at dusk. A single illuminated window in a Renaissance facade serves as the structural anchor of the painting. Created on heavy handmade paper, the work is presented in a custom passepartout mat to highlight the tactile deckle edges.

THE INSPIRATION
As a foundational piece in the Urban Solitude series, this work explores stillness amidst historical architecture. It invites the viewer into the calm of an Italian night, establishing that even in a city of massive monuments, the most powerful light radiates from a single domestic space.
