THE WORK
This piece studies the atmospheric transition of London entering the blue hour. The composition balances the heavy gothic shadows of Westminster against the sharp gold illumination of a single window. Executed as a miniature on heavy handmade paper, the artwork is presented with an archival passepartout to emphasize the natural deckle edge.
THE INSPIRATION
Serving as the inaugural piece of the Urban Solitude series, this painting examines scale and observation in the metropolis. By isolating one illuminated space against the vastness of the capital, the artwork shifts the narrative from public architectural grandeur to private human existence.
