THE WORK
A long multi-arched viaduct crosses still water in the last light of day, washed in apricot, rose and deep violet. A row of lamps runs the length of the span, each one lit with a small warm flame, leading the eye across toward a single blue tree on the far bank. The arches drop their reflections straight down into the calm water. The whole crossing glows, quiet and unhurried, lit for whoever comes.
THE INSPIRATION
Someone lit every lamp along the bridge.
A row of small flames in the falling light, each one saying: the way across is open,
you are expected, keep coming.
This is connection made ready, not the reaching, not the arrival, but the lamps left burning
so no one has to cross in the dark.
