THE WORK
A dining room the color of late October. A paper lantern glows above an oval wooden table; on it, a black iron teapot and two pomegranates on a dark plate. Branches of crimson berries lean from a vase, echoing the red foliage in the corner. The wall behind holds the amber light of a shoji screen at dusk.
THE INSPIRATION
Autumn does not arrive through the window, it arrives on the table. A darker tea, a deeper red, fruit that must be opened with both hands. The season enters the house as quietly as this: one plate at a time.
