THE WORK
Hamburg's Speicherstadt at dusk, seen from across the water. Brick warehouses glow warm along the far bank while a church tower disappears into the mist behind them. A lone figure stands on the quay beside an old iron bridge, small against the city. The canal below is perfectly still, holding the full scene a second time.
THE INSPIRATION
This painting explores the fragile boundary between two worlds.
One is the city itself — vast, restless, and endlessly alive. The other is the inner landscape we carry within us: the place where identity, belonging, and meaning take shape.
The small lights scattered throughout the painting act as beacons. They are not merely street lamps, but quiet markers of hope. Sometimes we only need enough light to take the next step.
