THE WORK
Morning slides across a marble kitchen. The island's veining runs like a river delta in umber and violet; a brass faucet catches the first warm light. Above, glass globes hang in a loose constellation, some lit gold, some holding the blue of the window. Dried stems in dark vases. A single stool, still turned toward the room.
THE INSPIRATION
Some rooms measure time better than clocks. The stone stays cold, the brass warms, the glass fills with whatever the sky is doing. This is the marble hour: when the kitchen belongs to the light, and to no one else.
