THE WORK
Two original studies of a restored Land Rover, framed together as one piece. Above is the front three-quarter view with round headlamps and the spare wheel on the bonnet and the canvas top up, painted against a wash of pale turquoise. Below is the view from behind with the tailgate down. A wicker hamper sits beside a folded blanket and a small dog sleeps in the load bed. A typewritten line names her beside the artist's signature.
THE INSPIRATION
This is restoration as affection. A machine given a second life and a soft one. Sunday roads and an open tailgate and nowhere to be.
